EU, Competition and Trade Law

The firm’s EU and Trade Law practice group is internationally recognized for its expertise in anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and other trade defense instruments, customs law and WTO work. Partners of the firm have been involved in virtually all major EU trade cases over the past decades and have participated in numerous WTO cases as members of delegations in front of Panels and the Appellate Body.

In view of the EU’s new powers over international investment, the firm has extended its expertise in international arbitration and investment, including arbitral disputes between investors and states.

Our lawyers have been at the forefront of EU regulatory developments in such areas as climate change and chemicals legislation (REACH).

Our firm has an established competition and state aid law practice, defending clients’ interests in cartel investigations, merger filings and abuse of dominance cases. We also advise clients on a wide variety of commercial arrangements and subsidy/state aid issues.

Our lawyers counsel and represent clients on matters relating to sector-specific legislation (e.g. telecommunications, energy, transport, media and other regulated industries).

A special area of expertise of the firm is the intersection of intellectual property rights, competition law and trade law.
